Colour management & ICC profiles
Possibly the most important aspect of digital photography,
yet the most misunderstood. We urge all photographers to
focus on colour management as a priority as it is vital
to producing quality images. If you
are processing your own images, it is vital that you use
a calibrated monitor combined with our ICC printer profile. For more information, see ICC PROFILE below.
Workflow entails the entire process that takes
place after photography, file storage through to final print.
Studio22
offers a full range of post production services to
produce professional prints. |

ICC profile
- Click here to download our
Frontier profile, this
is crucial for accurate printing.
See more about colour management and ICC profiles below.
ICC (International Color Consortium) profiles allow the
photographer to see images on his or her calibrated screen the way
they will print on the selected printer. A colour profile combined with a calibrated
screen is the answer to accurate colour correction.
HELP, What is a printer profile?
I would explain a profile much like a filter. Think of
it as a filter that is hanging over your screen. This
filter changes your screen image (it does not change the
image itself) to match the image of the selected
printer. I will gladly show you the effect these
profiles have. Let me know when you expect to be at the
lab and we can work on one of our Photoshop
workstations.
How to install our
Frontier profile (WINDOWS) -

Frontier profile
Profiles only work in software like Photoshop. You will
need Photoshop 6 or higher. Once you have clicked on
the link above, select save. Right click and select
'install profile'. Open Photoshop, select <edit>, then
<color settings>, tick, 'advanced mode'.
Under 'Working
Spaces' in <RGB>, select the Frontier profile from
the drop down menu. If you have an image open in
Photoshop, you will see the change take place. Please
use a calibrated monitor to ensure your screen is set to
an international standard - calibration settings will
vary according to your screen make and type. Please call
me if you would like me to talk you through it.
MAC users: Please e-mail us and we will attach
the profile in an e-mail as it may not download.
